Forgiveness means different things to many people. However, there are some real health benefits both physically and mentally to yourself if you can just let it go. Maybe the person who hurt you doesn’t see they did anything wrong and would never ask for forgiveness. Even if this is true, it is important to forgive them anyway, even if there is no hope for reconciliation, which is very hard. Does this mean you will forget? No, it means that you have decided to forgive them because you need it for yourself, so that you can move on with your life. Even if you can’t change how others see it, you can change how you react to it and move on with living your life.
Life’s too short to hold grudges… and besides it is not healthy for anyone, especially you. You deserve to live life happily and fully.

Is sunny yellow your happy color? Some colors such as yellow can seem to lift our moods making for a happier day. Have you ever noticed how being happy and staying positive is like a beacon attracting others? Maybe not if you are naturally that way. But it’s true! Usually people like to be around other people who make them feel good and are truly interested in them. But some of those folks can also bring you down, leaving you out of sorts, though you may not be able to put your finger on just quite why this is.
How do you keep your light bright? If you are the sunshine person, do you sometimes feel drained as if the life has just been sucked out of you by negative naysayers? Then how do you keep your sunny outlook if this happens too often? It’s by taking care of you.
The first step is to remember it is alright to take care of yourself first; unless of course you have others such as little ones or another that you are caregiving for. But even when caring for others, it is important to do some self-care, so that you can be your best self in giving to others and to keep yourself strong physically and emotionally. Your good and caring nature might be causing you to always put yourself last.
The short list in taking care of yourself is:
- get plenty of rest
- eat healthy
- spend time with those who make you happy
- limit your time with those who are constantly more negative and draining (You know who these people are. It is okay to do this and is healthy for you)
- Spend time with other happy, supportive, and encouraging people
- Always have something to look forward to, even if it is small
Let your self keep shining! Be happy and choose how to make this happen. No other person has the right to make you miserable, unless you allow it. Live as happy as possible and with peace.

Sometimes all we have to do is just take that first step and get started and not keep putting off what is important. Yes, life gets in the way! However; how can we be creative or carve out the time for that one thing on our bucket list, or finishing what is considered the most important project, while still doing all that has to be done and done today? Prioritizing every day, putting the important step(s) on the calendar. As one of my favorite professors used to say, Just chunk it down, one step at a time… and yes it will happen!
