Pileated Woodpecker ( Dryocopus pileatus )

” Hey… You need a bigger suet block! ”

This big bird surprised us today with a visit to our backyard feeding station. He actually made it onto the suet block by wrapping himself around it. But he made it work. There were actually a pair of woodpeckers, but only one was tempted by the bird food.

Nikon D7200, Tamron 200-600, ISO 800, 600mm, 1/1000 sec, f/8, no flash, crop only. (Top photo). Second photo not as sharp as bird and cage swaying or spinning due to his size. I will continue to work on this.

Have a great day & thank you for stopping by today!

OK enough pictures! I've posed. Time to eat!

Yea, after many years, I’ve updated my camera and added a bigger lens! This is one of my first attempts. I have a pretty big learning curve. Thank you all for letting me share. Thank you for visiting and a huge thank you if you’re a Follower!  –Terre
