Daily Gifts

Each Day provides its own gifts.

Sometimes we get so caught up with what is wrong or not the way we want it to be that we lose our focus for the good or what is right in our life. Imagine the change we might see in our lives if we look more for what is good, even if it is something small that we really don’t pay attention to and maybe even take for granted. Imagine the possibilities if we cultivate this as our approach to life so much that we inherently teach our children to do the same and look for the good in our lives and in other people. Imagine the difference we might see in our world. If you stop and think at the end of every day of 2-3 moments when you noticed good instead of the negative, would it be hard to do? Maybe… Maybe not.

Life’s too Short…

Life's too short to hold grudges ... besides it's not healthy.

Forgiveness means different things to many people. However, there are some real health benefits both physically and mentally to yourself if you can just let it go. Maybe the person who hurt you doesn’t see they did anything wrong and would never ask for forgiveness. Even if this is true, it is important to forgive them anyway, even if there is no hope for reconciliation, which is very hard. Does this mean you will forget? No, it means that you have decided to forgive them because you need it for yourself, so that you can move on with your life. Even if you can’t change how others see it, you can change how you react to it and move on with living your life.

Life’s too short to hold grudges… and besides it is not healthy for anyone, especially you. You deserve to live life happily and fully.

If you have found that you are just not able to move forward, there are many good resources, including community mental health providers. In the United States, you can also contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK.
