Photography ~ Places I Have Been

One of the things I miss most about todays world is the ability to freely travel. There is no better way to connect with other people than to share time, food,  and learn about their world.  It is so meaningful to share hospitality and just being in the moment with another within their own culture. I believe it is true that our world shrinks and can become more caring as we learn about each other’s culture and people.  While on one of my many walks,  I just happened to come across these beautiful doors while exploring about Rome. To say there is so much to find in Rome is an huge understatement! This is truly where  I learned and understood the phrase ‘Rome was not built in a day’.  Besides all the beautiful art, architecture, and friendly people… they have great music, wine, coffee, and make a great margarita to just sit and sip in one of their lovely piazzas. Yes, I enjoyed everything about Rome, including actually walking on the very same road as some of the greatest Roman rulers, and so much more. Oh, someday  to go again. ~

  1. It is a beautiful door. So much character. And you are right about traveling – missing it so much, too! Also, having visiting friends and showing them around. Hopefully this pandemic eases soon. It is too heavy on the soul!

    1. Thank you. I don’t know the history of the doors, but I can imagine pretty well that it is exciting. I’m glad you also mentioned the fun of having visitors in our homes. I am in the process of redoing my guest room. Hopefully, it won’t be too long until we all can have visitors again and go out and about. You put this perfectly into words of … too heavy on the soul. Thank you and take care.
