Everyone Has A Talent (Gift) to Share

“Use the talents you possess. The woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.”

Every person has a talent (a gift) to share to help make it better for someone else.
Many have turned their talents into a career they enjoy and that they are able to make their living from and are really good at. But there are talents that are unique to someone that just makes it a gift when shared with someone else. Some of these gifts can be just as simple such as baking a special cake for someone, being a great storyteller, playing music for others, using your photography as a gift, or growing vegetables or flowers and bestowing some of your bounty with others that just makes their day. I know I always appreciate receiving flowers shared with me since having a green thumb is definitely not one of my talents! I have a couple of friends who not only grow flowers, but arrange them so beautifully, that I know their gift and time makes the day a special celebration!

Maybe the only gift you have to give on a certain day is a smile that shows a “genuine greeting to someone who just needs someone to greet them kindly in that moment.”
The opportunities to share your talents are endless. If you are not sure where to start just look to your family, neighbors, or workplace. Especially seek a way to share at least a portion of your talent with strangers with no expectations of receiving anything in return. However, one of the most interesting findings in sharing of yourself is the intrinsic joy you do often receive in return!

“When we flex our giving muscles every day, the process begins to transform our own lives. Because no matter how successful we are, when we go out into the world ‘to get things’, when we strive to achieve a goal, we are operating from a perceived deficit, focused on what we don’t have and are trying to obtain. Once the goal is achieved, we are on to the next goal. But when we give however little or much we have, we are tapping into our sense of abundance and overflow.” –Arianna Huffington, Thrive*

Thank you, if you are already sharing at least one talent with others. If you are not and want to, what are you good at that you would enjoy sharing with others? It does not have to take a lot of time. If you’re not sure what your talent is, ask yourself what are others always asking you to bring, make, or do? It doesn’t have to cost a lot, if anything, other than your effort to be somewhere or supplies if you are making something at home. Maybe you’re good at cooking, knitting, playing games, like to rock babies or visit the sick. There is room for everyone! Everyone Has A Talent (Gift) to Share. What is yours?
